Finite Group is seeking experienced Defence naval engineering consultants to provide their technical expertise to major naval programs.

This position requires maritime engineering experts who can draw upon their previous industry experience to evaluate and address complex engineering issues, designs, requirements and make reccommendations within their delegation.

What the role will cover

• Act as the technical authority through design acceptance, implement and maintain technical regulation compliance and engineering policy and process
• Evaluate technical and design packages - by scoping, planning, reviewing and implementing
• Plan, lead, develop, implement and manage engineering management systems to deliver engineering artefacts through strong stakeholder engagement
• Manage complex engineering change proposals and perform requirements analysis
• Support delivery of Defence seaworthiness requirements
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with various senior project delegates
• Mentor and develop junior staff

Your Skills & Experience

• Bachelor of Engineering (mechanical or naval architecture) from a recognised Australian institution
• Minimum 10years' experience within the Defence naval engineering environment
• Currently hold Chartered Engineering or Registered Professional Engineering status through Engineers Australia or Professionals Australia
• Display high level of effective communication and demonstrate the ability to make decisions within delegated authority
• Must be an Australian Citizen with an active Baseline security clearance or higher
• Must be located in Cairns or willing to relocate
